Marco Valerio Antonini
Marco Valerio Antonini is a Los Angeles-based, Italian composer of music for Film and TV. Classically trained, he is also an orchestrator and studio conductor. His work combines a strong melodic sensibility with contemporary cinematic storytelling, ranging from symphonic orchestral scores to hybrid and electronic soundscapes. His credits include collaborations with acclaimed composer Jeff Beal on projects such as House of Cards (Netflix) and JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass, directed by Oliver Stone. He has also worked with composer Gordy Haab, contributing additional music to the Grammy- and BAFTA-winning score for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and the Grammy-nominated Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Marco is the recipient of several international honors, including the Krakow Film Music Festival Young Talent Award and the Juan Gil International Soundtrack Prize. His winning composition, Land – A Story of Belonging, was performed by the Film Symphony Orchestra in Madrid, opening a concert program featuring the music of John Williams, Bruce Broughton, and Hans Zimmer. His score for the documentary Profezia. L'Africa di Pasolini, produced by Cinecittà/Istituto Luce, premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and marked the beginning of a continued collaboration with the renowned Italian documentary production company. He holds a Master's degree in Composition from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. In the US, he furthered his training through the USC Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program and the ASCAP TV & Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis in Los Angeles, receiving awards for his achievements in both programs. He is also an alumnus of the
Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive, where he studied with distinguished maestros such as Conrad Pope and WilliamRoss.
His recent film work includes the feature drama COVID-19 Ground Zero, recorded remotely with a socially distanced orchestra in Budapest during the pandemic, the multicultural romantic action comedy Chindia, and the psychological thriller The Room, both directed by Sikandar Sidhu. Throughout his career, Marco has collaborated with many of the world's leading recording ensembles, including the Hollywood Studio Symphony, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Synchron Orchestra, and orchestras in Nashville, Prague, Rome, and Sofia. His work is rooted in his love of the orchestra, memorable thematic development, and a dramatic approach that places story at the center of every score.
