David Fogel interviews Danaë Xanthe Vlasse
GRAMMY®-winner Danaë Xanthe Vlasse is a half-French, half-Greek composer living in Los Angeles since 2005. Her music encompasses art song, chamber music, works for solo piano, along with choral and orchestral works. Mrs. Vlasse holds honors from many competitions along with the GRAMMYS®. Her music has been performed by internationally-acclaimed singers, instrumentalists, chamber ensembles, and choirs, and has been featured on national television through PBS’ “Front and Center” broadcast. Ballet dancers and figure-skaters have choreographed to Mrs. Vlasse’s music because crossing creative disciplines is a personal passion for the composer. She has released 6 albums of original music. Her most recent release is MYTHOLOGIES II, which was recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and offers orchestral tone poems highlighting sopranos Sangeeta Kaur and Hila Plitmann, tenor Omar Najmi, and pianist Robert Thies, as they embody iconic figures from Greek mythology.
