April - 2026

Hi Symphonina Fans!

We hope you’re doing great! As we come to the close of April we have a lot of news to share with you!

Budapest Scoring Orchestra Recordings

We had great recording sessions with Budapest Scoring this month and last! In preparation for our 2026 Symphonina album, on March 30, we recorded Christopher Siu’s Symphonina No. 1, which won our 2025 Best Symphonina of the Year competition. Zoltan Pad did an outstanding job conducting, and we already have the final mix complete. That was followed by another session with Budapest Scoring, this time with Peter Illenyi conducting, as we recorded Jordan Jinosko’s Symphonina No. 3 (Of Fire and Water). Jordan’s composition was runner-up in our recent competition. But wait, there’s more! That was followed by another session with Grammy®-nominee David Das conducting his own Symphonina No. 1 (Lenny and George Walk Into a Bar). And what’s more, we will be back recording with Budapest Scoring again in May!

International Symphonina Orchestra Recordings

Our 2026 International Symphonina Orchestra has also been busy as we wrap up David Fogel’s Symphonina No. 6 (Flutissimo), featuring Ragan Whiteside on flute and Alexander Boldachev on harp, along with Alexander Unseth’s Symphonina No. 3 (Painted City) and Chris Prather’s Symphonina No. 1 (Name still to be determined!).  The International Symphonina Orchestra continues to grow with players from every continent, except Antarctica (so far).

The First Five Symphoninas

In March, we released an album titled The First Five Symphoninas, David Fogel’s initial compositions in this new genre. Last week the Global Music Awards recognized it with a Gold Medal Award! The album is available on all the usual streaming sites. To help support the Symphonina Foundation you can purchase a digital download. We want to thank everyone who helped create this music: all the performers with Budapest Scoring and the International Symphonina Orchestra, conductors Zoltan Pad and Peter Illenyi, producers Daniel Fisher, Gary Gray (who was also the mastering engineer), Gabriel Mulder, and Chris Prather, along with featured artists Chetan Tierra, Sophia Agranovich, and Vivian Fang Liu, and everyone else who contributed to the artwork and other facets of the album! Most importantly, thank you for listening!
