March - 2026

Hi Symphonina Fans!

Spring has sprung! As March heads into its final week, we have a lot to update for you!

Budapest Scoring Orchestra Recordings

First up! In preparation for our 2026 Symphonina album (release anticipated mid-July) we’ll be recording Christopher Siu’s Symphonina No. 1 with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra on March 30. Chris was the winner of our 2025 Best Symphonina of the Year composer competition. That will be followed shortly thereafter with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra again to record runner-up Jordan Jinosko’s Symphonina No. 3 (Of Fire and Water). The Budapest Scoring Orchestra has been a contributing orchestra on each of our annual albums and we’re greatly looking forward to the opportunity to record with them again.

International Symphonina Orchestra Recordings

At the same time, recordings are already in process for Alexander Unseth’s Symphonina No. 3 (Painted City) and Chris Prather’s Symphonina No. 1 (Carriage Ride to Spooky Town) with our own International Symphonina Orchestra (ISO). The ISO comprises individual players from around the world who record their parts separately and then we do the audio engineering to have them perform as one orchestra. About half of the players are young aspiring professionals and the other half are established elite artists. And when we say “from around the world” we mean it: Ghana, Ukraine, Singapore, Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Serbia, U.K., the list goes on, even including the United States! We also have some surprise guest performers as part of our orchestra this year so stay tuned for more!

Alexander Unseth Receives Recognition

Alexander Unseth, who is an Ambassador for The Symphonina Foundation, has been selected as a featured composer for the Wizarding School for Composers 2026 Orchestral Composition Intensive. His work, Lingua Ligata, will receive its world premiere and a professional recording with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra in July 2026. Inspiration for the work is drawn directly from Alexander’s lived experience as a person who stutters and how this speech impediment was the very catalyst for teaching himself composition. Join us in congratulating Alexander for this great honor!
