Newsletter - February 2024

Dear Friends:

We hope February is shaping up as well for you as it is for us! Since our last newsletter, we completed the 2023 Best Symphonina of Year competition, and the judges selected Alex Unseth’s Symphonina as the winner and Jordan Jinosko’s as the runner-up. Alex receives the $2,000 first-place prize and Jordan receives the $1,000 runner-up prize – and both of their Symphoninas are now in production for live performances by the 2024 International Symphonina Orchestra. We’ll be including them on our 2024 album that we plan to release by August. Exciting times!!

We want to express our gratitude to all of the competition entrants and the judges: Ryan Leach, Dimitri K., Mauritz Lotz, Meredith Moore, Wilhelm von Dungen, Gary Gray, Diana Tash, Daniel Fisher, Imre Czomba, Stanley Grill, Ambroise Aubrun, James Adler, Chetan Tierra, Steve Locks, Pamela Liptak, Jean-Pierre De Villiers, Joanne Lazzaro, Danny Gray, David Bernard, James Dumas, and Sophia Agranovich. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Our 2023 award-winning album, Introducing the Symphonina: Spreading the Joy of Symphonic Music to Young Audiences Around the World, is now available for purchase: Click here  or go to the store page on the main menu.  All proceeds from the album sales go directly to promote the foundation’s mission and will support young and experienced players from around the world with their live recordings for our 2024 album.   If you would like to contribute or donate in support of The Symphonina Foundation please visit: https://symphonina.org/donate. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and relies 100% on donors, like you.

Finally, we want to give a big shout out to Julie Vivaldo, our first official volunteer Ambassador for The Symphonina Foundation. Julie is a terrific clarinetist, a super personality on TikTok, and an all around great person! We’re very fortunate to have her on the team!

We always look forward to hearing from you and if you’d like to volunteer to help us, please let us know! You can email David Fogel (CEO) at david.fogel@symphonina.org.

See you in March!
